Pollution

Pollution is the leading cause of death and health challenges in low-middle-income countries. Most of them have experienced environmental health challenges related to an inadequate capacity to effectively handle chemicals and associated wastes. Among the most critical pollution-management issues in Africa are those related to mercury use in Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM), solid waste management, and management of e-waste as shown below.
